Are You Blogging?

Tips for Blogging and Increasing Your SEO

Are you blogging on your website? If not, what is preventing you from doing so? Did you know that you can increase your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) by blogging and sharing your posts? If you have a website and you are trying to increase your followers and make it easier to locate you online, it is time to get busy!

Put together a plan and a blogging schedule. Pick your topics, promotions, etc. and start blogging. It is easier to use a calendar as a visual reminder of what and when you blogged.

It is recommended that your blog contain about 300 characters so be brief. You lose readers when you go long. If you have a lot to say about a subject, don’t be afraid to do a series.

If you have an Android device, it is likely that you already have access to Google+ (whether you use it or not). It is linked to your Gmail. Sharing your blog posts (that come from your website) on Google+ will boost your SEO! Say that again? Yes, it is just that simple. It will help your website be found easier. I tried it to verify and my analytics report shows the drop in traffic. I will resume sharing on Google+ with this blog post!

Once you write your post you need to add a few things to each article.

  • I recommend that you add your website address to the bottom of the blog and a few hashtags.
  • If you have an email sign-up, add that to your post too.
  • Lastly, don’t forget images. There are some easy to use sites that offer free stock photos like Pixabay and there are some subscription/paid versions like Dreamstime. Don’t neglect the eye-catching images. Sometimes those images will spur interest in your subject matter.

Let’s get started.  Set aside some time and start writing today!
